Task 1: Initial Research

My three ideas are:
Fast food/ size
Annual income: more people facing poverty
Bus fares

Research!
fast food/size

With obesity on the rise in the UK it is estimated that half the UK population will be obese by 2050. The National Obesity Forum said Britain was in danger of exceeding the prediction contained in a report back in 2007.
A new report blames junk food and claims fast food restaurants are to blame for tempting us to eat their food whether or not we are actually hungry. Fast food restaurants have been giving the public the wrong impression about what portion sizes should be considered right and what’s unhealthy. The obesity epidemic is a very serious problem and is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

Annual income
Hidden public service cuts will drain Britain's poorest families of 30 per cent of their annual income by 2017, as the coalition's tough spending targets begin to bite, new TUC research reveals.
It said reductions in benefits and family tax credits, combined with continuing cuts to welfare, will 'cause considerable financial harm for millions of families'.
The dire predictions come as chancellor George Osborne prepares to deliver his autumn statement on December 5, in which he is expected to detail a further £10bn of welfare savings over the next five years.
'Unless George Osborne changes course,' the TUC warned. 'These cuts will be dwarfed by massive reductions in public services

Bus Fares

The cost of bus, tram and Tube journeys has increased as new fares come into effect in London.Fares have gone up in line with inflation, Transport for London (TfL) said. Single bus and tram fares on Oyster smart cards have gone up by 5p to £1.45. Peak and off-peak single fares on the Tube, DLR and Overground Zone 1 and off-peak single Zone 1-2 have risen by 10p, while cash fares increased by 20p.

what actions would your documentary encourage?

Fast food: The kind of actions that my documentary would encourage is that fast food is around everywhere but you should think about yourself, eating fast food is unhealthy and you should be taking care of yourself, my documentary would raise the awaress that fast food everyday is bad.
Bus Fares: it would

Summaries initial ideas.
Using interviews and footage, i will show how people are gaining so much more weight now then they use too.
Croydon is full of fast food restaurant, selling fatten food that doesn't help people but people still end up buying because they are so busy making money that they don't have time to cook anymore.  Because we are in a sort of a recession every sing price of everything is going up, nothing is cheap anymore which means working on more hours in order to make more money to pay for the housing, water, gas, electric, car insurance etc. No one has time to spend home cooking anymore so everyone just walks into a fast food restaurant and buy food and when you have free time and you’re hanging out with your friends, you end up eating in fast food restaurants.

The fast food restaurants are not hard to find. There are more in Croydon then I can count.
McDonalds, KCF, burger king etc are not more than 10 minutes away from each other.

Where are the places that sell food that sandwiches and salads? And how come the fast foods are cheaper than the healthy food? Why not make it cheaper?

How comes bus fares have increased in cost? Doesn’t that just make peoples live even harder?
