                                  Selena Gomez on ELLEN

What is the purpose of the interview?
The interview i chose to do was with Selena on the Ellen show. Ellen is a women who has her interviews come back again and again and when they are on stage with her, is almost like they are an old friends just catching up together.
The purpose of the interview was to catch up with Selena Gomez, find out about her break up, dating life and how her music life is going and who she hangs out with her.

The way the interview is handled?
The way Ellen does her interviews is just by talking and makes her interviewees feel like her they can say anything. she always has an images and interviews to embarrass her interviewees.
The way Ellen handles the interview is by not asking anything too serious and if she is asking something personal or serious she asks it in a jokey way instant of a straight up. she makes people feel calm around her by making jokes and making her feel like she can tell her anything by saying things like " you been on my show many times and i feel like we friends and you can tell me anything for example justin" or by simply just bring about the question in a funny way.

In her interview she asks her own questions in her way but mostly instant of asking questions, she has an actual conversation with her. Asking her personal things just like two friends chatting. she makes her feel like they are the only two talking and there are not a whole audiences around.

the video that i through was most effective was the Ellen show. The way she interviews Selena was also like she could ask anything she wanted and Selena would answer because they had trust...
The interview that Hari chose to do is straight forward, the women that was interviewing Charlie Sheen, didn't bother to get to him but jumped straight into her questions....she didn't try to have a conversation with the man but just went to her questions in a way it was effective but not for the interviewee

documentary analysis (3) Men and Women

What is the social issue being focused on in this documentary
The focus of this documentary is the about the differences between men and women. The theory men are from mars women are from Venus is completely nonsense.
The researchers, Harry Reis, a professor of psychology at University of Rochester, and Bobbi Carothers, senior data analyst for the Center for Public Health System Science at Washington University in St. Louis, concluded that characteristics that we traditionally associate with one sex or the other actually exist on a continuum.

Summaries what happens in the beginning/ middle and end
In the beginning Harry Reis talks about about how we see the differences between men and women. He than goes to talk about the differences there are between men and women but just because women is loving and caring doesn't mean she cant play sports. when a parent raises a child she should change the child is the way the video ends.

what type of documentary is this? Conventions used?
The video i watch was a video diary. Reis talks to the audiences and giving his opinion on the subject.
Conventions wasn't something that was using much in this video but it was still used.
Opinions
Facts.

what is the purpose of this documentary?
The purpose for the documentary was to set aside old facts about men and women not being the same and as a researcher Reis's video was made in order to create awareness that we are not so different from each other.

what changes it is campaigning for?
Reis documentary isn't campaigning for big changes but only that we notices the different in each other but realize that we are all not different but the same. Men are not from mars and women are not from Venus but at the end of the day we are all from earth.

who is the target audience? age/ gender/ interest/ how is the audience encouraged to participate in creating change?

The target for this documentary is mainstream. Considering the topic it talks about, it is information that is interesting to everyone and not just a small group of targets. The video dairy is short and gets to the point.
The gender for the documentary is targeting is both genders because of the subject at hand. the documentary is talking about both genders and not singling any out.
The kind of people that would found this documentary interesting is the social action type of people. this being a video diary it was posted on and those who might be interesting in the hearing what Reis has to say.

The way this encourages the audiences by telling the parent, don't focus the children on something they don't want. they let grow and figure out who they are by themselves.
